GSC designed this playful and vibrant Austin Headquarters for for over 500 employees at one of the world’s leading IP technology companies.  This new office location allows arm to respond to it’s current and future growth and promote its company culture.    Arm designs the pervasive intelligence that is transforming our daily lives. Arm-based chips and device architectures orchestrate the performance of the technology that makes modern life possible. Many adjectives describe the Arm culture and its ability to efficiently orchestrate design within the new headquarters: Focused vision, fun work-life balance, open environments, classy and successful. A non-sterile environment, Arm desired bragging space for accomplishments and recruiting, reliable and local on-site food options, greenery and outdoor space, and a recreation area.  Arm’s culture supports primarily open plans with open and closed conference rooms, central break area/ bump spaces, full kitchen, servery and café area, gaming /recreation and outdoor activity areas.  Non-cramped, daylit areas, acoustical properties, room for growth, ample teaming spaces and capable media connections were paramount.

A ‘clean’ balance of work and play was implemented and, working with the core & shell architect (implementing AEGB standards), Arm embraced LEED and asked the design team to go for every point possible.  Floor 2 received the first LEED Gold V.4  certification in the US in 2019.
