This Government/MILCON project consisted of the design and construction of a 51,000 SF US Army CH-47 Aircraft Maintenance building with 493,561 SF of concrete airfield pavement.
The project included the design and construction of an Aircraft Maintenance Hangar of approximately 51,000 SF, including scheduled maintenance areas, maintenance shops, storage areas, administrative and support offices, wash apron and a new parking apron. The building included a concrete foundation and slab, steel structure, metal roof assembly, interior finishes, HVAC , electrical, telecommunication, plumbing, fire protection and security measures. Special foundation work was required due to expansive soils. Heating is provided by self-contained gas-fired units. Radiant heat is provided in maintenance bay areas. Air conditioning (administration space and special environmental areas) is provided by self-contained units. Supporting facilities and site improvements included: site work, utilities, including electric service, paving, walks, curbs and gutters; security fencing and lighting; storm drainage; access roads with clear zones, extensions and gates; information systems; and site improvements.
