ROUND ROCK | 134,000 SF

The Round Rock Higher Education Center project is the first phase of development of a new 100-acre campus in Round Rock, Texas for the Texas State University System planned and constructed under the guidance of Texas State University – San Marcos. Phase I consisted of development/improvements to the first 20.5 acres of the campus and included all site utilities and site improvement for surface parking, and the construction of 134,000 SF of buildings: a new four-level Multi-Purpose Classroom, Administrative, Student Services and Faculty Office Building and supporting Phase 1 & 2 Central Plant. The building is expected to function in its multi-use capacity for 2-5 years and then transition into a full administrative building. The expressed design intent was to utilize exterior materials that reflected the heritage of the rural community combined with the type of modern technology required for a higher education facility.

The Higher Education Center was designed to meet today’s student needs for wireless internet and dispersed learning areas throughout the interior and exterior spaces, cultivating the technological and social communities that form the educational fields of today.
